More Snow?!!??

Believe it or not, but we've gotten even more snow! You know there's a lot of snow when Wal-Mart has been closed all week because the snow could cave in the flat roof and be dangerous for customers!! Also, one of the strip malls in town has been closed since Wednesday and one of the schools was closed today because of the snow on the roof tops.

Here are new pictures taken today of our house and street to compare to my previous post. It may be hard to tell the difference since it is so white, but we have gotten about 6 more inches of snow since my last post. This coming week is supposed to be nicer, possibly above 32 degrees! I think everyone is looking forward to spring, but is wondering what's going to happen when these big snow banks melt. I know we already have our fingers crossed for a dry basement!!

The snow is up to the top of our fence on the
South side of our backyard.

Thank goodness our neighbor blows the
snow from in front of the mailboxes.

Bumbo Chair

It's hard to believe how big Delaney has gotten in 2 months! Andy talked about sitting her in the Bumbo chair and I immediately thought, "No way, she's too little!"...but he was right. She can't sit in it for too long yet since she's a bit of a bobble head, but once her neck muscles get stronger, she'll be able to sit up longer.

Doesn't she look grown up??? 1/15/09

Delaney's 2 Month Appt & Shots

Delaney had her 2 month check-up on January 5th. She is growing so quickly! She weighed 12 lbs. 8 oz. and measured 23 1/2 inches long! She's in the 95th percentile for height and weight!

At this appointment, she also had to get shots. She cried when the nurses poked her, but settled down some once I was able to pick her up and give her hugs and kisses. Shots are so hard on babies (and the mommy looking into that sweet face while it's happening).

Snow, Snow & More Snow

We have gotten more snow this winter than I can remember having in a long time. Definitely our fair share! The snow plows have been doing a pretty good job of removal, but they have made the some of the streets pretty narrow so it's a little tricky driving on some roads. Hopefully spring will decide to hurry up and come early!!

Our house - taken from across the street

When it's time to shovel, Andy has to throw
the snow on top of the piles...not too fun!

Our backyard - Don't you just want to sit in one
of the chairs with a good book and a nice, cold
glass of lemonade??
Our neighbors across the street go to Florida for
the winter season. I'll bet they hope all this snow
melts before they get back for the summer!!

Little Viking Fans

We were all decked out in our purple & gold to watch the Vikings play the Eagles in the playoffs on January 4th. Even though the Vikings couldn't pull out a win, we still had fun together.

Awake for about 1 quarter...football tires little girls out!!

Having fun together!
Hey, this isn't a "football hat"!!!!

Christmas Season

These 2 pictures of Hudson & Delaney are included in my Christmas 2008 slideshow. However, I had to make a seperate post with them because I believe they sum up our holiday season.

We had a really fun, great time...

...but in the end, we were really tired out!!!

Christmas 2008

We had such a wonderful and busy Christmas! We opened gifts with our immediate family on the 24th after having a good breakfast together. That afternoon, we went to church with our Lach side of the family. After church, we went to Grandma & Grandpa Lach's house for supper. After everyone ate, the grandkids opened their gifts. Christmas morning, we checked out Hudson & Delaney's gifts from Santa. Then, we packed up and drove to Powers Lake and spent the day with Grandma Diane & Kara. We had a fun day playing Wii, opening presents and had a nice supper. We stayed overnight and headed home on the 26th. That night, we had our adult Christmas with the Lach family. We ate a good meal, exchanged gifts and played games.

We hope you and your family felt as blessed this holiday season as we did. We especially are thankful for our health, our son and daughter, and all of our family members and friends. We feel lucky to be able to spend time with family near to us, and miss those we could only talk to on the telephone.

Christmas can be hectic and crazy, but seeing it through the eyes of our 2 children makes it more magical. I hope we will always be together for the holidays and continue to make memories as a family.
